Key Projects
A variety of habitat restorations were completed in 2012 by Ecological Restoration, Inc. at this site. Our work included restoring two major bends in Ottawa River by installing Bendway Weirs, Longitudinal Peaked Stone Toe Protection, Living Dikes, erosion control and plantings on banks. In addition, we restored two smaller creeks with rock structures, bank protection and plantings. Several acres of wetlands were restored using our amphibious excavator and planted using plants from our nursery. In Sawyer Lake, we constructed and planted wetland shelves and created fringing wetlands again using our floating excavator. Overall tens of thousands of herbaceous and woody plants from our nursery were supplied and installed.
